Master Automotive Service Technology
Boca Helping Hands partners with accredited Atlantic Technical College and Technical high School to provide this 100% classroom based course. Students are trained in the use of technical and flat-rate information systems, as well as a variety of hand and power tools. Training also includes the use of electronic diagnostic and other test equipment. Specialty training is provided in such areas as air conditioning, front-end alignment, and the use of computerized automotive repair data systems.
Additional financial assistance can be considered for students entering this program (e.g., help with transportation, temporary accommodation, childcare, rent etc.)
Requirements:
+ Are 16 years of age or older
+ Have a high school diploma or GED (in English)
+ Have a valid driver’s license and Social Security Card
+ Provide the last 3 months of bank statements to establish financial need
+ Have strong English language skills
+ Have reliable transportation
+ Pass Level 1 background screening check
+ IRS Tax Return for the last filing year for all adult members of the household
+ 3 most recent paystubs
Phase One: One week of Job Readiness - Hybrid (In person - via zoom). Monday through Friday from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Phase Two: The Master Automotive Service Technology course is 1800 hours (approx. 18 months full time) and begins in either January or July. It is gives Monday-Friday from 7:05 am to 1:50 pm. Instruction coincides with the eight (8) areas recognized by the ASE Education foundation for professional technician certification and provides for eight (8) Manual Drive Train and Axles, Suspension and Steering, Brakes, Electrical Systems, Heating and Air Conditioning, and Engine Performance. Students are encouraged to participate in ASE Certification testing program during their testing.
Phase Three: Graduates work with BHH Job Mentors to update/create resumes, practice mock interviews, and learn how to navigate employment sites for open positions.
Please note that all phases are mandatory for successful completion of the program.
