Family Night Dinner: Thursday, March 21st

Boca Helping Hands Remembers Marilyn Frontera

On Thursday Night, Boca Helping Hands served the usual Thursday Night Family Dinner from 4:30 to 6:00. But this week (March 21st) dinner will take on a special significance. It has been one year since the passing of our beloved Marilyn Frontera. We will honor Marilyn’s memory in a manner consistent with her own courageous fight against cancer.

Throughout her battle, Marilyn lost neither her commitment to the clients of Boca Helping Hands nor her sense of humor. As her condition worsened, her socks got more colorful and louder! In fact, you might remember, when we honored Marilyn as our 2011 Volunteer of the Year, we “presented” her with a number of pairs of wildly colored socks. We decided to have a sock drive and many people brought new, unopened packages of socks (dress socks, athletic socks, etc.) which we distributed to those in need.

This was a lovely event to remember our amazing and courageous friend, Marilyn Frontera.
