VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION DINNER, SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2011

Sunday Evening, November 13th was a magical starry night. Boca Helping Hands had their Annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner at their own Remillard Family Resource Center. The outside was decorated with twinkle lights and the black and white theme tables, decorated with candles and stars. The stars were decorated by Thursday night’s youth activity center and children from the families having dinner at BHH. Imagine That, a do it yourself ceramic company, took them back to their business and fired them.

The Annual Meeting was also held at the beginning or our Volunteer Appreciation Dinner. The board was reaffirmed with a unanimous yeah vote. Marilyn Frontera was named Boca Helping Hands Volunteer of the year. James Gavrilos, Executive Director, Gary Peters, Board President; and Yasmine Zyne, Board Member and BHH other Board Members plus many volunteers were there to applaud the unanimous choice of Marilyn for this year’s award. Marilyn spoke briefly and with much affection for her “family”. She really appreciates the genuine care and support she has found here at BHH and especially while fighting gallantly through her illness. Marilyn was given a large print of Van Gogh’s Stary Night, which will be signed by BHH volunteers and staff.

The delicious dinner was donated by Season’s 52, Olive Garden, Tomasso’s, Crown Liquor, and Publix. There were many fantastic volunteers that came for this night to help. Sally Wells headed up this event with help from Cherie Jamison, Ron and Monica Bucher, Friends of Sally Wells, PBSC Rotaract Club, Members of Shadeii Kodesh Synagogue, and Junior League of Boca Raton. This event was underwritten by our own BHH volunteer, Mary Jones.

We, at Boca Helping Hands, thank all who came to this event and for their many hours of service. We also want to express our appreciation to those who donated food and time in order to make this evening truly memorable.

Boca Helping Hands is a Volunteer Driven Organization and we appreciate each of you!!!
