Volunteer Spotlight: Jack J.

May 10, 2022

For the past 19 years, Jack Jaiven has served as the Board Treasurer. He discovered BHH through martin Levinson, a BHH founder and member of Temple Beth El, who nominated him for the board.

Jaiven is originally from Bronx, New York, and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the City University of New York. In 1973, after spending two and a half years in the Army, he became a CPA. Shortly thereafter, he and his family relocated to South Florida, where he has served in various financial roles, principally for publicly traded real estate development companies. In 2005, Jaiven acquired an interest in a Boca Raton-based real estate brokerage company, The Signature Real Estate Companies, where he has served as executive VP and CFO.

With his experience, he has lent his time and accounting talents to help our Controller coordinate with auditors, review tax returns, present financials to the board, and review our annual budget.

“In his role of Treasurer, Jack performs a critical and demanding function as a member of the BHH Board,” said BHH Executive Director Greg Hazle. “As a CPA, he supports our controller by providing a second set of eyes on our financial reporting and stewardship. I know I can always call on Jack not only as a financial resource but as a knowledgeable and dedicated Board Member who is always willing to be supportive.”

In addition, his company's charitable arm, Signature Gives Back, actively participates in community outreach and social action through volunteer activities and fundraisers that have benefitted dozens of charities. Signature Gives Back has been a longtime supporter of BHH and is a Community Chest sponsor for our 2022 MONOPOLY® Event and Casino Night.

"My goal is not to feel satisfied, but rather to help people who may not have had a lot of luck in life," said Jaiven. "It just takes one person to make an impact on another person, and I want to do my part."
