Job Description:
Assist with community outreach and recruitment, data entry and other administrative tasks supporting the Job Training Program Coordinator.

Volunteer Hours: 
Schedule is flexible but needs to be consistent. Approximately up to 10 hours per week needed during normal operating hours (9 am to 4 pm).

Comments: 

  • Reliable quick learner and good multi-tasker who is a self-starter and can work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be proficient with office technologies and excel, word, using the internet, and accurate data entry.
  • Willing to develop a strong understanding of other community resources

Job Description:
Register and screen clients for the Pantry Bag Program. Set up and distribute pantry bags (non-perishables, frozen meat and fresh produce). This shift takes place at our Boynton Beach Satellite at 301 N. Seacrest Blvd., Boyton Beach, FL 33435

Volunteer Hours: Need consistent commitment to a specific day and time each week
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays (9:30am - 12:00pm)

Comments: 

  • Face-to-face with clients
  • Comfortable using a computer for search and data entry
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills needed
  • Must be comfortable standing and moving for (2) hours 
  • Must be able to lift grocery bags

Job Description:
Work with clients to help them search and apply for jobs, write resumes, set-up email accounts, review interview techniques, etc.

Volunteer Hours: 
Monday - Friday, 2-3 hour shifts

 

Comments: 

  • Face-to-face with clients
  • Volunteers are interviewed by the Program Director
  • Strong interpersonal and computer skills

Job Description:
Qualify and register clients for the Children’s Assistance Program (CAP). Conduct interviews with potential families, gather required documentation and work with participating agencies.  

Volunteer Hours: 
Schedule is flexible but needs to be consistent.

Comments: 

  • Face-to-face with clients
  • Must be detail oriented and meticulous when handling sensitive financial information
  • Able to adhere to CAP guidelines when screening and qualifying potential families.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely reporting
  • Special training for internal computer program will be given
  • Willing to develop a strong working relationship with participating agencies

Job Description:
Answer the phone, perform clerical duties, schedule appointments for classes and Job Mentors, direct clients to other community resources when applicable.

Volunteer Hours: 
Need consistent commitment to a specific day and time each week during normal operating hours.

  • Monday – Friday 9:00am – 1:00pm
  • Monday - Friday 1:00pm – 4:00pm

Comments: 

  • Face-to-face with clients and other BHH visitors
  • Willing to develop a strong understanding of other community resources
  • Strong computer, multi-tasking and interpersonal skills a must

Job Description:
Work with team leader. Commitment for same day of week is needed for kitchen team. Prepare, serve and clean-up (wash dishes, pots and pans, etc.).

Volunteer Hours: 

  • Monday – Saturday 8:00am – 1:15pm (MUST start by 8:00am to be ready for lunch service)
  • Thursday 2:00pm – 6:30pm (MUST start by 2:00pm to be ready for dinner service)

Comments: 

  • Face-to-face with clients
  • Must wear hat or hair net and gloves (supplied by Boca Helping Hands)
  • Standing and moving required Requires teamwork, flexibility, strong organization skills and ability to work under time pressure

Job Description:
Deliver hot meals to a pre-determined route of clients in East Boca.

Volunteer Hours: 

  • Monday – Thursday 8:00am – 10:00am
  • Saturday 8:00am – 10:00am

Comments: 

  • Face-to-face with clients
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Volunteers use their own vehicles
  • Need consistent commitment to a specific day of the week

Job Description:
Register and screen clients for the Pantry Program. Distribute pantry bags (grocery, meat and produce).

Volunteer Hours: 

  • Monday – Friday 1:00pm - 3:00pm

Comments: 

  • Face-to-face with clients
  • Comfortable using a computer for search and data entry
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills needed
  • Standing and moving back-and-forth to warehouse

Job Description:
Pickup food donated by specific stores and restaurants (at specific times) and compete required paperwork

Volunteer Hours: 
Need consistent commitment to a specific day and time each week

Comments: 

  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Volunteers use their own vehicles

Job Description:
Setup and fill grocery bags (250 bags per day)

Volunteer Hours: Need consistent commitment to a specific day and time each week.

  • Monday – Saturday 8:30am – 12:30pm

Comments: 

  • Standing
  • Some mobility needed
  • Handling full grocery bags

Job Description:
Categorize and mark out bar codes. Pack frozen meat and/or fresh produce. Additional warehouse assistance as needed (hygiene kits, food pantry support, etc).

  • Monday – Saturday 8:30am – 12:30pm

  • Requires mobility

2197(1)_0.jpgDress Code:  No Flip Flops - CLOSED TOE SHOES ONLY! Please arrive on time, neat and clean, including clothing. If you are working directly with the food you must wear baseball cap or hair net.  This code is for your safety and the safety of our clients. 

Age: Parents of minor children  (children 15 and younger) must have a parent onsite with them. 

Waiver:  All volunteers must sign a waiver of liability on an annual basis. Parents of all minor children (children 15 and younger) must sign a waiver for their children.
