Bowling for Bread Fun for ALL!

Boca Helping Hands 5th Annual Bowling for Bread & Food Drive was filled with laughter, fun, food and music. There were 26 lanes sponsored by local businesses and individuals for children from FAMILY PROMISE, FLORENCE FULLER, THE HAVEN, HOME SAFE, PROPEL, PEOPLE REACHING OUT TO PEOPLE TO PROVIDE EDUCATION AND LEADERSHIP, and SALVATION ARMY. We had 16 teams participate in the bowling tournament. There was a Chinese Raffle which included groups of items for the players and children’s gift baskets for the kids. The children received medals for participating and gift bags of candy to take home with them. There were live performances by several young local Singer/Musicians. We received donated food from Boca Ale House, Costco, Lucille's Bad to the Bone, Papa John's Pizza, Publix, Two Fat Cookies, Uncle Julio's, Wal-mart and Whole Foods Market.

Boca Helping Hands appreciates the support from all of our sponsors, donors and participants. This year's Corporate Sponsors were Bru's Room, Republic Services; National Services; Brockway Moran & Partners, Inc.; and Countess Harriett De Hornele Foundation.

Many volunteers came out to help, Bliss Salon brought a group from their salon and many volunteers from Boca Helping Hands were there to help hand out shirts, signed in guests and watched over the food tables.

Over 1,000 lbs of canned goods was collected for this event, $8,000.00 was raised and 100 children had an afternoon to remember. Everyone had a great time and Boca Helping Hands hopes to see everyone at next year’s event!

James Gavrilos, Boca Helping Hands Executive Director handed out the awards and announced prize winners.
