BOCA RATON, FL, Monday, January 14, 2008 – Boca Helping Hands is hosting the second annual MONOPOLY Tournament evening on February 22 at the Marriott Boca Center.

The funds raised are dedicated to build this new facility to house all of the services offered by Boca Helping Hands. The goal of Boca Helping Hands is to help people in need through compassionate service; and gain independence by fostering dignity, self respect and self-esteem.

The new facility will offer services including a hot meal program, hot meals to the homebound, food pantry program, sandwich program for the children of low-income after-school programs, financial assistance for those in-crisis situations and a job mentoring program. This new facility will also provide a warehouse facility to store the non-perishable food donations.

To date, Boca Helping Hands has received over $1,000,000 in donations toward the capital campaign. "We are delighted at the response that Boca Helping Hands has received from the local community. This year's MONOPOLY Tournament and dinner is expected to be even bigger and better than last year,” said Gary Peters, President and Chairman of the Capital Campaign Committee.

Mr. Peters, developed the original concept from his experience in 1991 as the first person ever inducted into the MONOPOLY Hall of Fame as winner of two U.S. tournaments and for his charitable work. During the World MONOPOLY Game Tournament in 1992, he was elected World Ambassador for MONOPOLY. Gary utilizes his U.S. Championships through Tournament Fundraisers to make a difference for his favorite charities such as Boca Helping Hands.
