Boca Christian School Torch Run Benefits Boca Helping Hands!

Boca Christian Schools Annual Torch Run
5K Run/Walk or 1 Mile Youth Run

Saturday, January 21, 2012 was a perfect day for a 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Youth Run. The day started for most of the volunteers at 6:00am with registration and set up. Boca Christian had a record 350 entries into this years Torch Run. T-shirts and Goodie Bags were handed out at registration. Prizes were awarded at the breakfast that was enjoyed by all. 

Boca Christain School presented Boca Helping Hands Executive Director, James Gavrilos, with an check for $2,500.00. There was also 317 lbs of food donated to Boca Helping Hands. Boca Christian Schools' William "Bill" Hood II and Evie Joy Licata, Admin. Assist. to the Director of Development headed up all of the days activities. 

Boca Helping Hands was represented at this event by James S. Gavrilos, Executive Director and Karen Swedenborg, Development Manager, Caron Renaissance, Boca Raton and the Boys LaCross team from Spanish River. Thirty volunteers helped with Bounce House duties, serving breakfast, handing out water, spotters for 5 K and youth mile, registration and clean-up.
