Boca Raton FC, a team in the American Premier Soccer League, will assist Boca Helping Hands in preparing and serving meals, as well as distributing pantry bags, and giving the children a free soccer clinic. “We are very excited about the opportunity of partnering up with such an amazing organization like Boca Helping Hands,” says Boca Raton FC’s managing partner, Douglas Heizer. “The work Boca Helping Hands is doing with the community is fantastic and we at Boca Raton FC are ecstatic to be able to give back to our community.” Currently in first place in the APSL standings, Boca Raton FC plays their finals game of the regular season on Sunday versus Uruguay Kendall as they prepare for the 2015 APSL Playoffs.

Over 58% of American school children receive their primary meal each day at school, through the free and reduced lunch program. The Wal-Mart Foundation has made a generous grant of $30,000 to Boca Helping Hands to ensure that these children have adequate food on the weekends.

Executive Director Awarded Scholarship to Harvard Business School Seminar!

This week, the Harvard Business School Club of South Florida Foundation announced that BHH Executive Director James S. Gavrilos has been selected as the recipient of the 2015 scholarship. James will travel to Cambridge, Massachusetts and reside on the Harvard Campus from July 12th through July 18th.

Dealers wore green eye shades, but no real money changed hands at Boca Helping Hands' ninth annual Monopoly Event and Casino Night. As the first Monopoly hall-of-famer and a two-time national champion, board president Gary Peters started this event as a fundraiser. Later, he brought in faux blackjack and roulette tables to give the patrons who weren't playing the board game "something else fun to do," he said at Via Mizner Country Club on April 11.

Boca Helping Hands held its 9th Annual MONOPOLY Event & Casino Night on April 11, 2015 at the beautiful Via Mizner Golf and Country Club. (viamiznergcc.com). The guests arrived and had their photo taken with Mr. MONOPOLY himself. They enjoyed a cocktail hour before the games began. There were two fast paced tournament style Monopoly games with the first game having 40 players. After the top five players joined in for the final game, the Boca Helping Hands MONOPOLY Winner was announced, and for the second year in a row, Alain Troadec won the title.

Boca Helping Hands in Boca Raton Receives Basic Human Services Grant from Bank of America Charitable Foundation Boca Helping Hands today announced that it has been named a recipient of the Bank of America Charitable Foundation’s 2014 Basic Human Services Grant. The grant is part of a $461,500 collective investment the bank is making in South Florida to address issues related to basic human services. The grants will help individuals and families address financial stability issues facing low-income communities, provide emergency shelter and supportive short-term housing, as well as provide access to benefits and resources including food pantries, shelters and financial coaching.
