BOCA RATON, FL – Monday, February 2, 2009 – Tristan Cade decided to forgo any gifts for his 10th birthday and asked his friends to bring money that would be donated to Boca Helping Hands for people in need in our community. As a result of his generosity, Boca Helping Hands received a donation for $560 for which Tristan was presented with a certificate of appreciation.

Tristan told his Mom that he had received everything he wanted during the holidays and wanted to do something for others. So he asked his parents for their advice. Tristan learned about Boca Helping Hands through his Father, who had donated canned food items for the Food Center through his employer.
“I am so proud of Tristan for being so giving and civic minded,” said his mother Christie Cade. “This is such a great way to teach him how to give back.”

“I am always so pleased to see that children in our area understand that when we have abundance in our lives, we should be willing to help to others,” said Linda Gove, Executive Director of Boca Helping Hands. “Tristan and his family are wonderful examples of this.”

Boca Helping Hands serves families in crisis in our community with food and assistance programs. Our focus on job mentoring and job placement is a vital part of helping people break the cycle of dependency.
