Boca Helping Hands 2nd Annual Monopoly Tournament
Raises Capital Funds!

BOCA RATON, FL, February 27, 2008 – The Dedicated Volunteers of Boca Helping Hands held its 2nd Annual Monopoly Event and Dinner on Friday evening. The venue was at the Boca Marriott in Boca Center and attracted 120 guests. The unique event provided an opportunity for the forty various players to show off their Monopoly skills. The event was a great success while raising $92,000.00 all dedicated to the capital campaign.

“We want to thank all of the wonderful volunteers for organizing such a spectacular and fun evening,” said Susan Haynie, BHH Board member. “We are deeply grateful to each of the corporate sponsors as well as the organizations that contributed items for our auction. In addition, we would like to thank our volunteer committee and the many individuals that have given of their time and talents to insure the success of this event.” said Linda Gove, Executive Director.

The winner of the Tournament, Charles L. Siemon, a legal partner of Siemon & Larsen, P.A. won the grand prize of a Franklin Mint Collector's Edition Monopoly game.

Gary Peters, President of the BHH board, was the U.S. National Monopoly champion for eight years and continues to use this brief “claim to fame” as a vehicle to help raise funds for his charities. Gary who acts as the chief judge for the event enjoys giving generously of his time and resources to assure the success of this valuable community service. The local charity, having embarked on a capital campaign to raise one million four hundred thousand dollars, has reached the $1.2 Million dollar mark with this latest addition, bringing BHH closer to the reality of the new facility that will house all of the services offered.

Boca Helping Hands is a not-for-profit Boca Raton community-based organization with the mission of providing compassionate service through food and assistance programs to families, children and individuals to instill dignity and break the cycle of dependence.
