Job Description

The Social Worker will report directly to the Program Director and will work in collaboration with the Job Training Coordinator to evaluate and monitor participants in BHH’s Job Training and Mentoring Programs.

  • The Social Worker will participate in the evaluation of candidates for the Job Training and Job Mentoring Programs The Social Worker’s evaluation of candidates will include an assessment of the potential impediments in candidates’ personal lives that may affect the successful completion of the program.
  • Candidates who are accepted into the Job Training and Mentoring programs that have been identified as requiring additional support will have the Social Worker assigned to them as a “Case Manager”. The Social worker will monitor and report on the students’ progress through all the stages including: Job Readiness course, Job Training or Mentoring Programs as well as job search and employment after graduation.
  • The Social Worker will assist in identifying resources within BHH, and externally with partner organizations, that may help students successfully graduate the programs and find employment.
     

Qualifications:

  • Masters of Social Work (MSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW) academic qualification
  • Five (5) years of experience as a Social Worker
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and live presentation skills
  • Strong administrative, reporting and record keeping abilities
     

Responsibilities:

  • Interview prospective candidates for Job Training and Mentoring Programs to assess their commitment, determination and ability to successfully complete the courses.
  • Develop and maintain “case files” for each candidate admitted into the Job Training and Mentoring Programs which continue through all training phases and up to one year after graduation.
  • In collaboration with the Job Training Coordinator, develop and maintain relationships with organizations and agencies that may be a source of additional Job Training and Mentoring candidates.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with organizations and agencies that may offer resources, not available at BHH, which may assist students to successfully complete the programs and find employment.
  • Supervise Interns from local Universities, and other volunteers, that BHH may engage to assist with various aspects of the Job Training and Mentoring Programs.
  • Upon direction of the Program Director, The Social Worker may also be asked to evaluate “general” BHH clients to see if they may benefit from resources available in BHH’s network of partner agencies and organizations.(Including mental health treatment).
