A General Fund donation to Boca Helping Hands will help in the following ways:
$25 will help pay for up to 10 hot meals served in our Food Center.
$50 will supply up to 700 sandwiches to the low-income after school programs.
$75 will pay for prescription medicine for an uninsured client
$100 will supply 7 families with a bag of groceries.
$200 will help one family pay their electric bill for one month.
$1,000 will help feed 20 homebound clients for one month or pay rent for one family.Boca Helping Hands has been serving the underprivileged in Boca Raton for over 8 years. During that time we have expanded our programs and the services we offer. Our physical space needs have also expanded. Currently, food, warehouse and client services have been separated in rented space across multiple locations. The complicated arrangement makes the use of resources and volunteers difficult at best. Simply put, Boca Helping Hands needs a new and permanent larger home. Preliminary plans for the building have been drawn and the need for land for a 9,000 square foot building are being addressed.
Boca Helping Hands' first ever Capital Campaign has been underway since August 2006 to raise $1,400,000 to build and operate a permanent home and establish an expanded assistance fund, insuring the growth of services to the community's most needy.
Boca Helping Hands volunteers will work diligently with the community to raise these funds and begin construction in 2007.
Plans call for a two story building that will house the Food Center and food warehouse and distribution center, a kitchen, a dining room, an assistance Center, a conference room and a reception area. All areas will be named for major donors to this campaign.
All contributions are welcome. Please contact us for more information on Boca Helping Hands' work or the campaign to build a new home for these needed services.
